1963, a Wednesday afternoon in September over 50 years ago. Most shops are closed – Wednesday half day. Children make their way home from school. To the right you can see a few who have stopped to read the latest film posters pasted to the wall. Two boys stand outside McCarthy’s newsagent, observing the photographer. A group of girls are looking in Bluett’s Chemist window where the latest wedding photos and probably pictures from the previous week’s social function are displayed. Holland’s shop is open, selling ice creams and sweets to the passing children.
