A dinner function organised by the Clonakilty Agricultural Society, held in Dunmore House Hotel on 5 February 1965. The AGM held in January 1965 recorded the Society’s financial position was secure. The Society had on hand £959-7-5 between cash in the bank and prize bonds. £1,601 profit had been made by the Show Society before capital expenditure on the Industrial Hall of €1,311. The £1,101 prize fund for the 1964 show was a record. The Industrial Hall contributed significantly to the Society’s overall finances. The Hall management committee had achieved £2,881 profits (equivalent of €80,000 in today’s money) from dances at the Hall as well as rents from clubs and associations hiring the Hall.
