Publicity photos for the Timoleague tug-o-war team taken in September 1964.

The team coach was Tim Holland. His son Gearóid, let us know that the anchor man was Ted Carey on whose lands at Maryboro, Timoleague the pictures were taken.

There are only a few survivors alive from that team now.The team members as showing in the photos of the team standing are (left to right): Charlie Dineen, Ted Carey, Jerry Cowhig, Willie French, Billy Kirby, Mick Crowley, John Joe O’ Mahony, John Joe Crowley and team coach Tim Holland.

Gearóid has one of the trophies that the team won in 1965, pictured here.

He also kindly sent us a scan of receipts from TA Bluett Chemist for the purchase of copies of the photos. It is wonderful piece of social history and we are indebted to Gearóid for allowing us publish them on the website.
